More about this program

Thirty credit hours make up this online master's in global logistics and supply chain management, a 21-credit core in supply chain governance, procurement and materials management, distribution and inventory management, supply chain and logistics strategies, supply chain resilience and accounting and financial analysis, closing with a capstone in case studies in logistics. Richmond's VCU School of Business runs this 30-credit, 10-course program on a flexible pace, letting you enroll full-time at 9 to 12 credits a semester or part-time at 3 to 6 credits, so full-time students typically finish in 1 year over 3 semesters while part-time students take 2 years over 6 semesters. Core courses and most electives are offered at least once a year in an online or hybrid format, so you can complete the degree without living near the Richmond campus, though you still attend live weeknight class meetings on Eastern time. VCU does not require a GMAT or GRE score for the program, though you can submit one if you choose. Virginia residents pay $978 per credit hour and non-Virginia residents pay $1,108 per credit hour, plus an additional $85 per credit hour Master of Supply Chain student fee.

Wisconsin's specialized master's programs ask for a GMAT or GRE score, though you can request a waiver by showing strong quantitative and academic preparation instead. The school lists the degree as STEM-designated. Tuition runs $27,764.80 for Wisconsin residents and $51,413.28 for everyone else, and up to $7,000 in scholarships are available to graduates of any Wisconsin college. QS World University Rankings placed the program sixth in the country in 2025, and the school reports a $79,120 average starting salary for its 2025 graduates.

Ten months is the fast track: the University of Colorado Boulder's Leeds School of Business runs its master's in supply chain analytics as a full-time, in-person program that starts each July and covers three semesters. The same curriculum is also available online, on a slower part-time schedule finished over two years, mixing lecture-capture video with short online-plus modules and synchronous Zoom lab sessions held after 5 p.m. Either format runs 33 credits, with courses like Supply Chain Strategy, Procurement and Contracting, Transportation and Logistics, and a course on generative AI and LLMs in business, ending with an experiential projects course. It's a STEM-designated degree, and GMAT or GRE scores are optional. Leeds estimates total cost near $42,853 for Colorado residents in the in-person track and about $59,472 for out-of-state online students.

Two formats share the same 30 credits and $2,086 per-credit rate at Syracuse's Whitman School. An online track finishes in as little as 12 to 15 months, while an on-campus track runs as a 9-month, 16-month, or 21-month plan, with the 16-month option adding a paid summer internship. Both close with a Lean Six Sigma capstone, registered as a certified training provider for the Council of Six Sigma Certification, which the school says positions graduates to pursue a Green Belt from the American Society of Quality. Online classes meet live over Zoom with self-paced weekly coursework in between. Estimated tuition for either format runs $62,580 for the 2026-27 academic year. GMAT and GRE scores are optional, and online students can start in fall, spring, or summer. On-campus graduates have gone on to employers including Aldi, Amazon, and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Working professionals take this 30-unit degree through synchronous online classes that can be watched later as recordings, spread across four semesters that USC's own tuition table lists as a two year program. Marshall's program requires at least three years of full-time work experience, but skips the GMAT and GRE entirely. Two required international trips take you to a distribution hub in Asia such as Singapore, Hong Kong or Shanghai, plus an in-person orientation and a Commencement Week visit to Los Angeles, with airfare on your own dime. Coursework runs through Logistics Management, Emerging Technologies in Supply Chain Management and Application of Lean Six Sigma, and the program is STEM-designated. USC Marshall also runs this degree as an on-campus, residential option in Los Angeles. At the 2025 to 2026 rate of $2,541 per unit, tuition totals $76,230, and the estimated cost with mandatory fees runs to $83,226.

STEM-Designated Master’s In Supply Chain Management

STEM designation matters most if you’re an international student: graduates of STEM-designated degrees can apply for the 24-month STEM OPT extension. The Department of Homeland Security decides what counts by field code, and the main supply chain code (52.0203) isn’t on its list, while the management science codes are. So a supply chain master’s is STEM-designated only when the school reports it under one of those codes, and the only reliable way to know is the school’s own statement.

How We Ranked Supply Chain Master’s Programs

Each program scores out of 100 on three factors. Total tuition counts for 50%, admissions testing for 25%, and supply chain depth for 25%, meaning whether the school also offers supply chain study at the bachelor’s and doctoral level. When a school doesn’t state its GMAT policy, that factor is left out and the other two are scaled up. A program needs a stated tuition to be ranked, and one without it is listed after the ranked programs. The sub-lists above use their own orderings, stated where they appear. The full method is on the methodology page.
