Two formats lead to the same degree at the University of Houston's Bauer College: an in-class, face-to-face Master of Science in Supply Chain Management, and a fully online version offered under the UH Extend name. Either way, the STEM-certified program runs 30 credit hours, 18 in core supply chain courses and 12 in supply chain analytics, on a full-time or part-time schedule that finishes in 18 to 24 months. Courses cover demand and supply integration, strategic supply management, and global logistics management, ending with a Supply Chain Corporate Projects capstone where you work directly with companies on real challenges. Bauer estimates total cost at $31,500 for Texas residents and $47,000 for other US residents in the face-to-face program, or $25,983 online no matter where you live. Admission takes a four-year degree in any discipline, and GMAT or GRE waivers are considered upon request.

Bauer College designates this supply chain major as a STEM Advanced Degree, which qualifies international graduates for extended OPT employment. You can specialize further with concentrations in areas like analytics, strategic sourcing, or energy supply management, and the curriculum is shaped by input from the college's Supply Chain Industry Advisory Board and a forum representing more than 20 supply chain executives. Houston gives the program a location that includes the Port of Houston, the largest in the U.S. for international tonnage, three major airports, and extensive rail and trucking networks, plus 26 Fortune 500 headquarters nearby. Bauer says the program was ranked 8th in Gartner's 2024 list of the Top 25 North American Supply Chain Undergraduate Programs. The 120-credit-hour degree includes courses such as Purchasing Management, Materials Management, Supply Chain Logistics Management, Management of Supply Chain Contracts, and an Advanced Purchasing and Supply Management Seminar. UHD says its Marilyn Davies College of Business holds accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, a distinction fewer than 5 percent of business programs worldwide have achieved. The curriculum is updated in consultation with the National Association of Purchasing Management-Houston and the local chapter of the National Institute for Governmental Purchasing.
